QUEEN'S ISLAND & THE DOCKS

Introduction

This online exhibition looks at the area of east Belfast that has been physically dominated by the cranes of Harland and Wolff and still by the memory of the Titanic.

The area is shown through photographs from when Titanic was built to what the site now looks like. The history of working in the shipyards is detailed through interviews with workers; the history and the future of the the area with the Titanic Quarter is examined through commissioned texts.
