Belfast Exposed is delighted to welcome Ciara Hickey as new Gallery Manager

Ciara Hickey will join the team at Belfast Exposed from August 2011. She will work with Senior Curator, Karen Downey on realizing the exhibition programme at Belfast Exposed. She takes over the role from Brighdin Farren and Rachel Brown. Belfast Exposed would like to thank Brighdin and Rachel for their enthusiastic support of the Belfast Exposed exhibition and archive programmes over the past 2 years.

Before joining BX as the new Gallery Manager, Ciara worked for four years as the Education and Community Officer at Ormeau Baths Gallery. During her time at OBG she initiated a wide range of public, community, collaborative and schools programmes.

In July 2010 Ciara curated the exhibition 'Arrivals' at OBG, an exhibition showcasing emerging artists from Northern Ireland. From 2008 - 2010. Ciara co-ran the art space 'Delawab' curating a wide range of art events that included exhibitions, film screenings, performances, gigs, and talks with over 60 local and international artists. Ciara also writes on art, and has contributed to VAI, Perspective, and online journals. From October 2011 she will begin the 'Art in the Contemporary World' MA at NCAD in Dublin.
