Threat To Common Travel Area
The Borders, Citizenship and Immigration Bill, introduced in January 2009, threatened to introduce immigration checks on the land border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, meaning either identity checks for everyone moving between both jurisdictions, which is against the Good Friday Agreement

Belfast Born Photographer nominated for prestigious prize
Belfast born photographer, Donavon Wylie has been shortlisted for the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize 2010. Donovan's nomination is for his exhibition MAZE 2007/8, premiered at Belfast Exposed Photography Gallery in spring 2009.

New Home Office regulations to curb invitations to Non-EU Artists and Academics
The Home Office recently introduced new restrictions on international artists and academics visiting the UK for talks, temporary exhibitions, concerts or artists' residencies. Visitors now have to submit to a series of arduous and expensive procedures to get their visa, and then more bureaucratic controls when they are in the UK.
