Volunteer Training - A guided exhibition tour with artist Sabina McMahon

We are not currently recruiting, however we do keep interested applicants on record for future opportunities.

If you would like to find out more about volunteering at Belfast Exposed please contact to request an information and application pack.

At Belfast Exposed we have a dedicated team of volunteers who assist staff in the day to day running of the organisation. While invigilating in our gallery is a primary element of the role, our volunteers are also involved with installing exhibitions, assisting at events such as openings, talks and workshops.

Our volunteers come from a wide range of backgrounds, with many having established or are currently developing their own photographic practice. In the past we have developed a series of volunteer led projects, including critiques, workshops and exhibitions.

Previous volunteer led projects:

2013 - In 2013 our volunteers had the opportunity to curate an exhibition entitled Resolutions

2014 - A group exhibition featuring work by Belfast Exposed Volunteers entitled, Reconstructions: A Response. This exhibition involved the group producing new work using our exhibition Reconstructions (featuring work by Espen Dietrichson, Nina Fischer & Maroan el Sani, Onorato & Krebs and Jan McCullough) as a starting point.

2015 - Working alongside Belfast Exposed Gallery Manager Hannah Watson & Artist and Facilitator Frederic Huska, a team of our volunteers produced new work for an exhibition as part of the Young at Art Office of Important Art programme.

Though we are unable to pay volunteers we can contribute to travel expenses. We also offer free access to the darkroom and digital suite/studio and up to 50% off our training courses and workshops.
