The MAC, Den project

Community Partner: The MAC - facilitated by Mervyn Smyth - 6 June to 13 June 2013

This 2 session project was facilitated by Belfast Exposed community artist Mervyn Smyth who worked alongside the MAC learning and participation officer Jess Worsley. The project allowed the members of the Den to explore the exhibition, Northern Ireland:  30 Years of photography.

The sessions led by Mervyn Smyth, one of the contributing photographers, gave the participants the opportunity to view and respond to the exhibition. The practical elements of the workshops then enabled the members of the Den to develop digital photography skills and to use digital photography to create a response to the exhibition and explore the world around the MAC.

The Den is a place for young creatives aged 14-18 to discover, share and get involved in the arts. Meeting weekly, the group plans events and projects for other young people in the MAC through creative activity. The Den is a great opportunity to meet other young people, learn more about working in the creative industries and gain valuable experience for future careers.
